ENFORCEMENT ACTION CONTINUES ACROSS IRELAND TARGETING ILLEGAL IPTV PROVIDERS
Another wave of legal warnings have been issued to individuals across Ireland who are involved in providing illegal access to premium TV content.
The cease-and-desist notices were issued in several counties across Ireland between 7th and 18th August. This forms part of a broader campaign in Ireland to disrupt and shut down piracy networks. The campaign is led by FACT, which works in partnership with broadcasters and law enforcement. This follows a previous wave of action in March.
Kieron Sharp, CEO at FACT, warned that illegal IPTV service providers are breaking the law and putting consumers at risk. The legal notices have resulted in a number of illegal streaming services being taken down and legal proceedings brought against individuals.
