Noel Robinson, a 50-year-old Dublin man, received an 18-month suspended sentence for selling 81 illegal Android TV boxes, which allowed users to unencrypt and watch the Sky network for free.
The court estimated that Sky Broadcasting lost €102,060 in subscription fees due to Robinson's actions. Despite having no prior criminal record, Robinson pleaded guilty and cooperated with the investigation. It was reported he made a profit of €13,625 from the sales.
