NUMBER OF SCOTS OFFERING ILLEGAL IPTV SERVICES REVEALED

FACT and Sky have teamed up with regional police in the UK to combat illegal IPTV service providers who infringe copyright laws.

After investigations, a provider in Scotland was issued a 'cease-and-desist' notice, among 47 other legal notices issued across the UK over a three-week period. This led to the shutdown of most illegal services.

To raise awareness about the dangers of illegal streaming such as malware, fraud, and data theft, a new consumer campaign, BeStreamWise.com, has been launched.
